Mission Statement

The purpose of Altrusa International, Inc. is to promote better communities through service by an international network of men and women with diverse backgrounds and experiences.  The Warsaw Club is committed to community service and making Kosciusko County a better place to live.  We strive to maintain this commitment by uniting the various talents of our membership in service to others.  The Warsaw Club accomplishes this through both financial support and volunteerism.

Vision Statement

Being a leader in service, Altrusa will provide the gift of service to the communities and individuals of Kosciusko County through leadership, partnership and service.

Our Club assists a single mother furthering her education in order to raise the standard of living for her family through the Combined Community Service Project Independence Program.  We also provide the front doors for Kosciusko County Habitat for Humanity homes, and we prepare and serve a meal for the Bakers youth Club monthly.  We provide books for the Jefferson School children partnered with Grace College Mentors for Kids.  We also prepare and serve their annual banquet each spring.  We adopt a room at the Upson House (transitional housing for single mothers and their families) whenever there is a change of residents.

We founded the Beaman Home, the shelter for women and children victims of abuse in our county in 1985.  In 1992, we responded to Judge Burner's call to establish the Court Appointed Special Advocate group to speak on behalf of children in abuse and neglect cases in our county's juvenile court system.  We continue to support both these organizations with financial donations and volunteerism.

.We raise funds to support our key service projects.  Our biggest project is hosting Bingo for Beaman Home each fall.  Our 2016 event raised nearly $8,000 for that organization.  Other fundraisers are conducted as needed.  We have also applied for and received grants for some of our projects from Altrusa International's Foundation...most recently a $2,000 grant for the library and children's program supplies for Beaman Home's library in their new campus in Warsaw.  It matched our Club's $2,000 donation which was also matched by the KREMC Round up grant from the Kosciusko County Community Foundation.

President Vicki Martin presents Club's $2,000 donation for the Beaman Home capital campaign to Executive Director Tracie Hodson.  Phase I construction has been completed on the project.
